SC4 to offer new Paramedic Academy

St. Clair County Community College's Workforce Training Institute will offer a new Paramedic Academy on the college’s Port Huron campus.

The program will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Aug. 24 to May 26.

The class is designed for students who have completed an Emergency Medical Technician program. The 900-hour training program includes more than 500 hours of clinical and field internship following the 1998 National Standard Curriculum for Paramedics.

Students will review skills learned in the EMT program and expand on those skills with new lessons in pharmacology, cardiology and advanced airway techniques.

Students must be age 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED. Call (810) 989-5788 to register or visit www.sc4.edu/preparetowork.
