Petitions available for open SC4 trustee seats

St. Clair County Community College will have four seats up for election in November on its Board of Trustees. The election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 2.

The college’s district roughly follows the same geographic boundaries as the St. Clair County Regional Educational Service Agency.

The seats consist of three, six-year terms that will run from Jan. 1, 2011, through Dec. 31, 2016. The fourth seat is a four-year term that will run from Jan. 1, 2011, through Dec. 31, 2014. The SC4 Board of Trustees consists of seven elected trustees.

Qualified candidates must be age 18 or older by the filing deadline and be a registered voter living in the SC4 district.

Those who want to run for a seat must submit a petition with a minimum 40 signatures and a maximum 100 signatures of registered voters within the SC4 district, or pay a non-refundable $100 registration fee. Petitions are available at the St. Clair County Clerk’s Office, 201 McMorran Blvd., Port Huron.

The deadline for filing is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10. For details, call the county clerk’s office at (810) 985-2222.
