SC4 to graduate 12 from culinary arts programs

Twelve students will graduate from St. Clair County Community College’s culinary arts programs Thursday, July 1. As a requirement, students created a buffet for invited guests Thursday, June 24, at SC4.

Three students will graduate from the culinary arts basic program. They learned the culinary basics required to work as a cook or chef, including relationships between nutrition and health, techniques for the ServSafe Sanitation certificate, and culinary terms, equipment and utensil use. The students are:

  • Carl Babel of Columbus Township.
  • Julia Coats of Burtchville Township.
  • Kathleen Nadolski of Kimball Township.

Nine students will graduate from the culinary arts ManageFirst program. They received the basic culinary arts training, plus expanded classes on covering cost control and hospitality and restaurant management. The students are:

  • Jason Blanchard of Port Huron.
  • Daniel Keever of Clay Township.
  • Jay Martin of Port Huron.
  • Robin Morrison of Port Huron.
  • Christopher Perry of Port Huron.
  • Gina Pyrzewski of St. Clair.
  • Delores Sembrano of Croswell.
  • James Shirkey of Marysville.
  • Timothy Wehner of Port Huron.
