SC4 plans Celebrating Diversity in Music event

St. Clair County Community College’s Diversity Advisory Council will present Celebrating Diversity in Music at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 18, in the college’s Fine Arts Theatre in Port Huron.

The free event will feature numerous musical and dance acts from varied genres.

Performers include:
  • Barley Boys Jugband – Gordon Pichè, guitar, banjo, vocals and spoons; Matt Marchand, guitar and vocals; Peter Posselius, electric washboard and vocals; Bob Konieczki, gutbucket bass; and Joe Mazzara, guitar, mandolin and vocals.
  • A Circle of Friends – Dean Barnett, Mary Foley, Gordon MacDonald and George Stewart – American folk music.
  • Gary Krueger, Jake Wainz and David Nagy – Traditional Scottish bagpipes.
  • James Rankin – Classical guitar.
  • Jason Hami – Middle Eastern drums.
  • Annika Tekumulla – Bollywood dance.
  • Aisha Ahmed – Bollywood dance.
  • Great Commission Praise Team, directed by Lanisha Murphy – Religious dance.
  • Kim Brown and Janie Williams – Gospel music.
  • Elevated Praise Group, directed by A.J. Johnson – Gospel music.
  • Anthony Brown – Classical and gospel music.
