Second show in student art exhibition to open at SC4

St. Clair County Community College, in cooperation with Port Huron Museum, will present the second show in the 42nd annual Beatrice Thornton Student Art Exhibition in March on the college’s Port Huron campus.

The exhibition’s elementary school art show will be March 4 through 26. Show hours will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The galleries will be closed Friday, March 12, and Saturday, March 13. An opening-day reception will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 4.

This year, the exhibition was split into two shows, both in SC4’s Fine Arts Galleries. Middle school and high school art was shown first; that show and runs through Friday, Feb. 26.

Art teachers from all St. Clair County schools were invited to choose student work for the exhibition, which is free to the public.

In recent years, the shows had been at the same time but split between the college and museum.
